ABOUT

Since it's first lesson taught back in 1964 to the present day, Goffs School in Cheshunt, Herts had never boasted an 'Old Boys' football club linked with it despite all it's sporting achievement over the years. With a large number of secondary schools around the Herts and North London area involved with the Amateur Football Association leagues, it was decided that such an association should be created for Goffs also.

The idea of forming the club was first touted in summer 2005 and after two years' worth of discussion and ideas, things were finally put in place with Goffs Old Boys Football Club being offcially formed in April 2007. The committee was formed by six ex-Goffs School pupils (all Sixth Form leavers in 2000) and the ethos of the club was created to ensure that all ex-Goffs pupils would be welcome to become part of the club as well as opening it up to the local cachement area, providing a well run, sociable and competitive football club for all potential players.

Shortly after forming, the club was given the school's blessing and support and as such, the club's home ground was to be Goffs School itself. The club afilliated to the AFA for it's inaugral season and registered with the Amateur Football Combination for associate membership. This saw the club entertain playing a season's worth of friendlies against other AFA clubs each week, ahead of entering league competition proper for the 2008/09 season.

In June 2008, the AFC accepted Goffs Old Boys FC as a member of it's league and the club entered a 1st and 2nd XI into the competition. Since then both teams have made a respectable start to their individual campaigns and firmly established themselves within the league.

It is to great credit of the committee and all that have helped so far that the club is off and running, and with a long term goal of ensuring the club has a minimum of three teams as part of it, the future looks bright at this stage.
